Are you planning to start your own e-commerce and looking for information on what is the best WordPress store template? I’ve prepared a list of five best-selling WooCommerce templates, which I hope will help you make the best choice. These are themes that are very popular, and the one closing the pile has as many as 34,000 copies sold.
Spis treści:
I create websites on WordPress and WooCommerce professionally, so I’ll try to add a few words from myself to help you through this list. So, let’s see which of the following themes has a chance to define itself as the best WordPress store template.
1. Flatsome (234,000+ sold).
Flatsome is by far the best-selling WordPress online store theme, outclassing its rivals and containing on its own practically as many sold copies as all other four templates. What is its phenomenon based on? I think the success is the look of the demos, which allows us to easily launch an online store of any theme, although the demos are definitely dominated by examples of clothing e-commerce stores.
What catches the eye are the powerful features programmed by the template authors. Ajax Pagination & Filtering, i.e. dynamic product filters by e.g. category, type, color, as well as mmpossibility to display a large number of products without having to click and go to page 2, 3 or 4 to browse the products of interest, is undoubtedly a huge advantage. We don’t have to install a plug-in, or rather two plug-ins that will overload our store.
What the creators of the template brag about and highlight as the most important features of their product are:
- a proprietary page-builder tool that offers an easy way to build and edit your online store,
- unlimited customization options for store elements,
- good optimization (supposedly the best of all templates),
- “design of a store that sells” – if we believe the authors, and the number of copies sold makes it possible to believe,
- regular updates
With an average rating of 4.82 with nearly 8,000 reviews, this is a very good score and is certainly a template worth looking at.
The best fit: clothing store.

2. Porto (89,000+ sold).
Porto is a template similar to the aforementioned Flatsome, however, it has demos offering the look of very elaborate online stores, to me personally reminding me of, for example, x-kom.pl.
This theme offers 47 demos similar to each other, and is based on well-known plugins like page-builder, Elementor and WPBakery Page Builder. One of its main advantages is its versatility, as it offers a total of more than 134 demos, and this is due to many demos that are not typically geared towards e-commerce. This makes it possible for us to buy such a template and create both an online electronics store on it, as well as, for example, a personal portfolio, a company website for a dental or hair salon.
The creators boast a large number of options for customizing the appearance of the WooCommerce store, a fully optimized mobile version, good optimization or features such as:
- Ajax Shop & Infinite Scroll – you won’t need to install special plug-ins to remove the need to scroll through product archive pages,
- Advanced Swatch, i.e., the ability to, for example, allow you to select a T-shirt selection by clicking on, for example, a beige square,
- Quick View, which is the ability to preview key product information in a pop-up window.
The average rating is 4.93 out of more than 3900 reviews. Wow! In this respect, it can certainly be the best WordPress store template.
The best fit: a store with a lot of products, such as electronics, clothing.

3. WoodMart (73,000+ sold).
More than 370 different demos in the library, so we can create almost any online store. Lots of possibilities to customize the appearance of the store, and supercharged with a mass of features useful for running a modern online store, such as:
- dynamic product filters,
- full-screen search engine,
- possibility to create expanded navigation (mega menu),
- expanded reviews,
- product gallery in the archive.
WoodMart is a template that I had in my hands last year and I liked it very much and it seemed ideal if I needed to create my own online store on a ready-made template, because I felt that it had all the options I needed and the ones I hadn’t managed to think of yet. It wasn’t perfect as I worked to improve it, because there was an incompatibility between it and a very popular dropshipping plugin…. in both cases the paid support pimped out to the customer suggesting that they were unable to do anything and the other party should be contacted. For this a small minus, but to sum up the whole thing – it’s a great template.
The best fit: it is versatile, everything can be done on it.
The average rating is 4.93 out of more than 2,700 reviews. Similarly to the above, wow! Woodmart has stolen my heart and, in my opinion, there is a possibility for it to be the best WordPress store template, although this is a purely subjective feeling that is reflected among customers who buy this theme.

4. XStore (43,000+ sold).
XStore is another WooCommerce template offering a wide list of demos, where we can find a demo for a store offering car rental, cosmetics, children’s toys, spices, home furnishings or… a portfolio for a photographer.
Here we have at our disposal similar advantages and features as in the templates above, that is: the creators of the template boast that their theme is a guarantee of good sales, as well as regular updates. On top of that, in the template’s description we will find a calculation that buying this template we will get a premium plugin package worth $467 – is this really the bargain of a lifetime? I think not, as not everyone will want to share affiliate links from Amazon or will use an English-language invoice template when in Poland we have access to integrations with many accounting companies.
Certainly, this template will be an interesting choice if your store will operate exclusively abroad and preferably in English – then you will be able to take advantage of the full benefits it offers.
The best fit: it is versatile, everything can be done on it.
The average rating is 4.88 out of more than 1,800 reviews.

5. Shopkeeper (34,000+ sold).
Last in this list, but is it the worst among those listed? Shopkeeper is a template that creates itself as a versatile one, although it certainly doesn’t match up to Woodmart or XStore, because when we look through all the available demos, we quickly see that there are a small number of them to choose from, and the main differences are minor. This is a good template in my opinion, if you plan to add 10 – 100 products there and want to highlight them with tiles leading to categories or promotions on the homepage.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t impress – both the product description, demos and the number of features compared to almost all the above-mentioned competing themes. Is it the best WordPress store template? I happened to work on a small online store, which was based on this template and…. this is my personal feeling, but I would rather suggest you to choose one of the alternatives listed above. They offer more and better, and the price is the same. The exception to the rule: any of the demos will appeal to you so much that you won’t be able to sleep – then take it and don’t wonder…. after all, you get premium support for the first 6 months.
The best fit: small online store (10-100 products).
The average rating is 4.62 out of more than 1,400 reviews.

So what is the best WordPress store theme? Summary.
It’s a purely individual matter, and it all depends on which one you like best, so that it’s necessary to make the least number of visual and technical changes needed to get the end result you’re interested in.
You have to remember that they are often technically very similar themes – usually built on page-builder plugins such as Elementor, Gutenberg or WPBakery Visual Composer. Their main difference is the appearance, and they share common features, such as regular updates, very good ability to customize template elements on their own, a wide range of features to make running a store easier, a decent mobile version and poor optimization. The latter is the biggest problem, but there’s no fooling around – either you get a template for a small amount that you can customize in dozens of ways, or you choose the more expensive option and hire a programmer to create a template from scratch.
I use Woodmart for my online store, I like it a lot. Actually the support is not always helpful, but in your case it was an issue of integration with a plugin with which they do not declare compatibility.
Hi Andrew, thanks for your comment! Actually, you are right and I mentioned it in my comment. In my opinion, this is the best theme from this list.
